Is there a dress code?

The dress code for our wedding is black-tie. We ask that men wear a tuxedo, and women wear a floor-length dress.

Can I bring a guest?

Due to space constraints, we can only accommodate named guests on the invitation. Thank you so much for understanding and keeping our wedding intimate!

Can I bring my children?

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so you can celebrate with us.

Should you eat before the welcome party?

Yes! We’ll have light bites and snacks, but we recommend grabbing dinner beforehand so you’re not arriving hungry.

Is there parking on site?

Since we will be serving drinks at our wedding, we do recommend guests use Uber/Lyft or book accommodations near Marion Square since all venues are within walking distance. Limited church parking is available in the lot behind the church at the corner of John St. and Elizabeth St. as well as on-street parking to the side of the church on Charlotte Street. There are also public parking options around the venue areas!

Q + A

We first met in November 2021. A big group of friends were getting together in Greenville, SC for the Clemson vs. Wake Forest game, and when our good friends got engaged that same weekend, we knew we had to be there. We’re so thankful we both decided to go. A couple of weeks later, we met up for drinks in Charlotte. (Fun fact: it was supposed to be just drinks — in case either of us needed a quick exit.) But the night went better than either of us could’ve planned, and we ended up grabbing dinner at a spot we could walk to. That first night set the tone for everything that’s followed — easy, fun, and somehow just right. For a while, we made long distance work — lots of flights, FaceTimes, and weekends filled with exploring speakeasies, restaurants, concerts, and coffee shops around Charlotte, Hoboken, and NYC. In April 2024, we finally closed the distance and made Hoboken home together. Not long after, on November 1, 2024, we got engaged! What Lauren thought was a casual sunset drink meet-up with friends turned into something a little more memorable. On the walk over, we ended up at Stevens Institute’s campus, where a private porch overlooking the NYC skyline — and a perfectly timed sunset — became the backdrop for the proposal. When it came time to choose a wedding location, Charleston was an easy pick. It’s a place that’s been special to both of us — from childhood memories to some of our favorite trips together. We’re so excited for everything ahead — more adventures, more love, and hopefully a few dogs along the way. Life has always been better together, whether it’s a big trip or a normal Tuesday night — and we can’t wait to celebrate the start of our next chapter with all of you in Charleston!
